Summary[]
At Charlie's suggestion, Chris and Heather arrive at the site of the Rainwood Day Camp & Learning Center to search for clues. The buildings have since been torn down and the area is reduced to a wide open park. They find a package containing documents, a phone and an audio recorder, which includes a message from Jeff Benson, who relocated to California and has been investigating Greg's death as well as the Order. The documents contain personal information and whereabouts of the New Jersey Chapter Overseer and other members of the Order. Chris and Heather feel hopeful that the information will bring them closer to Alex's location.
On the road, Chris notices that a car has been following them. They call Jeff with the phone found in the package, who tracks their movement via the phone’s GPS. Jeff realizes that two cars containing the Order are now tailing them and manages to tap into their phone’s GPS as well to track them. Jeff guides Chris and Heather to a city where they ditch their car and frantically follow Jeff’s directions to the location of a Lyft he had called for them, which will break the Order’s traces of them and allow them to escape in their car later. En route, they are spotted by an Order member with a mask colored half-white and half-black. The two run into a dead end, but Heather resists the man’s advances and stabs him to death. They eventually arrive at the spot where Jeff’s Lyft picks them up.
