Summary[]
Chris explains that Alex survived their last encounter with Gorr'Rylaehotep, but became catatonic and unresponsive, not speaking a single word since the encounter, and often walking alone at night. Chris also details that they had been living on the road for months. Eventually, Heather's leg wound reopened and became severely infected, and she pleaded with him to take her to a hospital, which he did. When he returned to the hospital days later, she was missing and no records of her could be found.
Chris, having run out of money, was forced to sell the cars for scrap, telling the dealer that he and Alex were homeless. The dealer allowed them to live in his boiler room, and Chris worked at the dealership cleaning cars to support himself and Alex.
Chris said that he had been sleeping poorly, and wasn't sure how much longer he could go on, wondering what the point of continuing was if nothing was going to get any better.
